     Prince Ludwig II, had the castle built between 1874 and 1879, he hoped by interweaving the second Italian Renaissance and Baroque styles to achieve a certain intimacy. Thus inside are a state bedchamber surpassing in luxury even those of Versailles, a room of mirrors, painted cloth panels in imitation of tapestry, statues and pastels of Louis XIV, Louis XV, Madame de Pompadour, Madame du Barry and others. This castle is small and cozy, the perfect weekend retreat. The castle comes fully furnished.
